The FAFNM conducts formal surveys, under agencies' permits, for the elusive Yellow-billed cuckoo.  Two teams conduct separate surveys near Horseshoe Ranch each trip.  We've scheduled 5 surveys in 2019.  For folks who wish to carpool, we leave from Northern Ave & I-17 in Phoenix at the posted time, which is about 80 minutes before dawn.  Physically, the surveys require good hearing and ability to scramble around thorny brush, slippery rocks, pools, and get feet muddy and wet.  Bring sufficient water and snacks.  We walk quickly every 10 minutes between stops.  Length ~ 3 miles round trip.

Max group size is 4 per team (in order to finish before noon).  Register to reserve a spot for this date.  Further info: contact tjflood@att.net
