FAFNM is holding guided walks on Monument streams during 2019.  These interpretive tours will promote the AZ Water/Ways Smithsonian traveling exhibit, which arrives in Black Canyon City in mid-December 2019.

On this walk we'll visit the ephemeral Badger Spring Wash to see migrating and resident wildlife attracted to this delicate xero-riparian area.  The early-spring bird migrants should be present.  Deciduous trees will be leafing out, but mesquite may still be dormant.  With the wet winter, the April flowers should be abundant.  The trail is in the sandy wash Expect a trickle of flow, some mud, and small rocks. Size limit: 17 persons.  Good for students.

Badger Spring Wash is located 50 miles north of Phx, off I-17 exit #256, one mile east of the Interstate.  Free event; registration required to see the hike details.
