Wet-Dry (WD) mapping for 2019 takes place Saturday, June 22. Volunteer teams of 2-3 persons will walk 2-6 miles along the stream channel to record the presence or absence of water. Expect hot and sandy conditions, cactus and riparian vegetation to walk around, and some boulder scrambling. Wet, slippery, and muddy conditions may occur. Prior to the event volunteers must acclimatize themselves to handle the heat. Hardy hikers are welcome to tackle the tougher segments.
Attendance for safety training and instructions on mapping is required, especially for new volunteers. The training will be held at the BLM Deer Valley Office, Saturday, June 8 (see calendar) from 7:45am - 1pm. The training and orientation helps us match volunteers to appropriate segments.
