FAFNM offers guided walks on Monument streams during 2019.  These interpretive tours promote the Smithsonian AZ Water/Ways traveling exhibit, which arrives in Black Canyon City in mid-December 2019.

We'll visit the ephemeral Badger Spring Wash to see the effects of the Badger Fire that occurred June 2019.  We'll note autumn's migrating birds (towhees, meadowlark, goldfinch, ruby-crowned kinglet, ladderback woodpecker, and gnatcatchers) and late-season reptiles in this delicate xero-riparian area.  Sunflowers and other plants are attracting butterflies.  The trail is in the sandy wash, so there might be low flow, some mud, and small rocks.  Size limit: 17 persons.  Good for students.

Badger Spring Wash is located 50 miles north of Phx, off I-17 exit #256, one mile east of the Interstate.  Free event; Meet at Badger Spring Wash trailhead
